Essay02-3a: My University life

There are a lot of great universities in the world now, and they have characteristic school. I think that universities will be more fantastic 25 years after. I will tell you about the present and about 25 years from now university life.

First, I will explain about the present my university life. I am a sophomore of Kumamoto Gakuen University. My school is called Britain and American. I am majoring in English there, and I have a lot of classes. There are compulsory subjects and cultural studies. The former are writing, listening, speaking and reading. The latter are introduction of linguistics, biology, law, Korean, politics and anthropology. Therefore, I have many assignments every week. When I do my assignment, I often use PC because of the renewal of my blog and some reports. At first, I didn’t adapt myself to use PC, particularly Mac. However, I have gradually adapted to use it of late.

Second, I will tell you about my recess. I usually eat a lunch at bakery or talk with my friends, and this time relaxes me. Without these times I often go library, and I study something or watch DVD. One of the appeal points of the university is what there has recess. When I was a high school student, I had my classroom. However, there are not own classroom at university. In other words, I could spend on my recess freely. It is wonderful thing for me. I have a lot of nice friends. They are very precious to me. I would like to keep in touch with them after graduation.

Third, as other activities, I do tutor of overseas students. It is difficult for me that I teach Japanese to them, but it is a challenging activity for me. In addition, I have corresponded with my Korean fiends for a long time. It is very fun, because I can learn Korean languages and culture. I would like to treasure these connections with them.

Next, I will tell you about university life about 25 years after from now. I think that cutting-edges will be innovated in the class. For example, it can laboratory to space and there are monitors on each of desks. Ideally there are amusement centers in the university like a movie theater, sport plants and aquarium. If it will be realized, all students would like to go school. In spring or summer vacations, there are two tour plans. First trip is to tour to the World Heritage Site. There are 911 World Heritage Sites now. There is beautiful nature or buildings and it may give us the power. It is important things to find histories that are background of World Heritage Site. The other plan is eco tour. Recently, environmental destruction is important problem, so we need opportunity to think about ecology. These two plans are clean ideas about how to use our long vacation.

Finally, I am looking forward to realizing my idea of the future. Anyway, I wish the students could lead a good school life more comfortably from now. I think that I may learn a lot of important things through my university life. It will never forget that in my life. When my child goes university, I compare now with 25 years after. I think that the university is more interesting and convenient. I have some ideal university life, but I satisfy my university life now.

Essay02-2c: Language Learning Stories

I have learned a lot of foreign languages, for example, Japanese, English, Spanish and Korean. I think that it is difficult to learn foreign languages, but nevertheless it is so interesting and important to learn foreign cultures and languages.　I began to learn Spanish and Korean from I entered university. As for English, I learned it for 7 years, but I am not good at speaking English. When I learned foreign languages, I realize that it is important to figure out Japanese. So let me begin by explains how learned Japanese. Then I tell you about my language learning experiences.


When I was a pre-school student, I liked to learn Japanese, including Kanji. I am interested in the U.S.A, when I was ten years old. That is what I set off learn English. There were a lot of pictures and the Stars and Stripes of America in my room that time. However, I didn’t have opportunity to learn English then. When I graduated from elementary school, I buried in time capsule on ground with my classmates. I got a picture of Twin Tower into the time capsule, because I don’t forget that incident.


Next, I tell you about my junior high school days. I started to learn English at this time. At first I learned alphabet. It is the base, but I delighted to learn it. When I was thirteen years old, I took part in English seminar because of I was recommended my English teacher to join it. I could good experience there. It was my first time that I come in contact with a foreigners, so I remember that I was keyed up over to speak English with them. I made friends with other participants them.


I went cram school after I entered to high school, since it was more difficult that the English class. In addition to English, I learned Japanese classics and Chinese classics. I was particularly poor at Japanese classic. However, since I belonged to the humanities class, I did spend much time on these classes.


Now, I learn English as my specialty at university. I have four classes relate to English, and these are reading, listening, speaking and writing. These are not so easy for me, but it is a challenging content.
I am especially poor at speaking, so I teach Japanese to overseas student with my friend in English. It is pretty difficult thing, but I will try to progress with my English.

When I was a freshman in university, I learned Spanish as a third language. It was so difficult for me, for example pronunciation and spelling. I could learn Spanish culture as well as language. I also learn Korean since this year. Korean close to Japanese in some respects, so it is easer compared with other languages. Since I want to know about Korean culture and language, I exchanging letter with my Korean friend. It is so interesting, so I will keep it!!

I will tell you about the reason why did I start to learn Korean. I like the K-pop singer when I was junior high school student, so I was interested in Korea. My favorite Korean singer is TOHOSHINKI, and their chorus is amazing!! I have many favorite songs, so I can't select the best song. Therefore, I would like to hear their songs. Regrettably, I have never been to Korea, so I want to go to Korea very much!!


Next, I tell you about my favorite Western music is "Man In The Mirror" that is Michael Jackson's song. I especially like the words. My best language is Korean, because Korean is similar to Japanese. Opposite to it, I am poor at Spanish, because it is difficult for me to speak with a trill. I want to learn English and Korean with my friends harder than present.

Finally, I often listen to Western music and K-pop. It helps to memorize a word in common use and pronunciation. It is important things that we are exposed different culture. If we figure out them, we can find other side of own country. I want to learn more other languages from now on!!

My favorite sports players

One of the my hobby is to watch a sports game on television or at stadium, for example, baseball, soccer, figure skating, volley ball and golf. I often go stadium to watch baseball game or soccer game. I particularly like to watch home game, because the stadium is packed with excited spectators. My favorite baseball team is SoftBank hawks, and their home is Fukuoka. Therefore, I went to stadium in Fukuoka a half year ago to watch their game. I was so excited because my favorite player, Munenori Kawasaki played on active part in the game. In addition, I watched a soccer game at KK wing not long ago. I have many favorite players each sport. For example, soccer is Tomoaki Makino, figure skating is Mao Asada and golf is Ryo Ishikawa. I would like to watch their performances and plays someday.

My favorite slogan

I have two favorite slogans. First, slogan is “a once in a lifetime chance”. It is said “ichigoichie” in Japanese. This word originates from sprit of tea ceremony. When I graduate from school and enter school, I feel that there is nothing more precious than meeting. I will meet various people, so I would like to precious these meeting. Second slogan is “Seize the day”. I got that word from my cram school teacher, when I took the entrance examination for high school. I have studied hard everyday at that time, so I often depressed. However, since I was encouraged that word. I could pass without giving up. I always visualize these words, because I get myself together. It is important to have good slogan in our life.

My favorite dessert

I like sweets very much, so no matter how I feel fullness, I can eat a lots it. I often cook sweets since I was an elementary school student, for example, custard pudding, pancake, cheesecake and cookie. These were so good. I love sweets for the most part, but I don’t like fresh cream. When I was child, I could eat fresh cream. However, it is not so good for me lately. Therefore, as for Christmas cake, I always choose cheesecake tart. When I eat out, I often eat dessert after eating. For example, ice cream, waffle and a parfait with a flavor of powder green. I think that when I eat my favorite dessert, I feel happy. I would like to try to cook some sweets.

New album☆

I like music, so I always listen to music. My recent favorite album is SENSE that is released December 1 by Mr. Children. It is a new album an interval of two years, so I was so excited. Mr. Children’s vocal is a Kazutoshi Sakurai, and all of the songs were written by him. His words are amazing. When I listened to his song first time, I was well impressed by his words. I recommend Mr. Children, so please listen to their songs.

Talk show

Last Sunday, I went to ballpark with my friend. There was held meeting that some Hawks were invited the meeting. Therefore, I went there to watch them. They were so cool, and children looked so happy. After that, I went to PARCO to watch talk show. I saw Mahara and Honda there. They talked about their officially and privately life. It was so funny, and I enjoyed it. I will support SoftBank next year.

I have learned the piano for ten years. When I was five years old, I started to go a piano lesson. First, I didn’t like to go a lesson. However, I gradually like to play the piano, because the songs increased that I could play. I particularly like Beatles’ songs, so I often play”Let It Be” at the concert of my school. In addition, I was a accompanist of school song at primary school. When I was fifteen years, I finished learning the piano because of examination for a senior high school. While my examination term, I always listened to classical music before I go to bed. My favorite performer is Chie Ayado who is the jassman with piano. Her music is very excited for me. I went to her concert two years ago. I was greatly touched by her performance. I would like to go that again.

I like the movies, so I often go to see the movie with my friends. My favorite movie are love story, fantasy and comedy. On the contrary, I don’t like horror film and action film. People may long for life like a love story film. However, it is difficult and we understand that, so we may see such a movie. Brad is a main character in this story. He and his girlfriend like to watch the movie. They want to marry, but they have no money. One day, they watched the movie, and he decided to imitate the story. However, it was a mistake, because he tried to kill women to get the rich women’s money. Then, he was arrested. The movie is more interesting, because we know what doesn’t come true.

BR 2-11: What a Lottery

I often buy a lottery, but I always buy a sheet. I just try my fortune. If I win the lottery, I may happy. However, I wouldn’t like to win a large mount of money, because it spoils my life. Though we cannot help buying a lottery, since we want to have entertainment in our daily life. A man who is main character wins the lottery, but he was robbed his lottery by robber. Then he was pushed over by robber, and he lost his memory. He has a dream that he becomes a singer, but he couldn’t be a singer because of poverty. After he lost his memory, he could co-star with famous singer. His life changed!! I don’t know which did he happy, but I think that what he was robbed lottery was turning point in his life.

The earth is called a miraculous planet, because there are water and air. Therefore, we can live in the earth. The sun is huge, and on the planet Earth we cannot live without heat and light from the sun. Around our planet, there is the ozone layer, which protects us from the sun’s fire. In addition, the ozone layer also protects us from the ultraviolet rays. The ultraviolet rays can be cause of skin cancer, and it is a matter of life and death. If the ozone layer breaks up, we may not live. However, it is gradually becoming breaks up, because of the Freon. We should protect the ozone layer, but it is difficult thing. We have to awake to change of our environment. I would like to do my best for the earth. I believe that environment is better than now in the future.

Where do you want to go if you were to have a one-way ticket? There are three plays in this book, and each main character makes a trip in various places. I think that it is important to experience and to know someone’s ideas, because it may broaden my horizons. In this plays, a main characters meet many people. For example, a man exchanges information with traveler about countries what they have been visited before. It is so interesting, and I would like to go trip. The meaning of one-way ticket is no plan what country we go next. It is a little anxiety, but nevertheless it is excited me. What I know new world connect the growth of myself. I would like to trip with I have one-way ticket!

Monkey Majik

I went concert to civic hall to see my favorite artists "Monkey majik" 2 weeks before. I was so exited to see their performance, because I already listened their best album!! It was a first time that I went their concert. Their performance was so amazing!! I would like to go their concert again.
